[Financial News] Landscapes from travel destinations and memories from everyday life unfold in paintings by artists with developmental disabilities. From time spent with family to familiar streets, each of the five artists captured their own memories.
According to Miral Welfare Foundation on the 6th, the special exhibition 'An Artist's Travel Map' is being held at MOKA Garden on the third floor of Hyundai Premium Outlet Space1 in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi Province. The exhibition opened on September 30 and runs through the 20th.
The participating artists are Kim Seong-chan, Choi Seok-won, Yun In-seong, Kim Gi-jeong and Lee Min-seo, all members of Bridge On Arte, an adult artists' group for people with developmental disabilities operated by the foundation. The exhibition features 12 works.
The artists expressed not only moments from distant travels but also scenes that remained special in their everyday lives through their own colors, lines and forms.
Because the exhibition explores both travel and everyday life, visitors can recall their own experiences and pay attention to how the artists transform memories into paintings.
Bridge On Arte introduces the artistic worlds of painters through exhibitions and lectures. It also provides workplace disability-awareness education using cultural experiences for companies and public institutions.
Jeong Gyu-tae, director of the Miral Culture and Arts Center at Miral Welfare Foundation, said he hopes children and families will naturally encounter the works of artists with developmental disabilities, adding, "I hope this will be an opportunity to experience different perspectives and forms of expression."
