[Financial News] Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, 29, who became the youngest person ever to hold the post and defended U.S. President Donald Trump, is expected to appear on Fox News beginning on the first of next month (local time).
Fox News announced this on the 5th, saying Leavitt would appear as one of its on-air contributors. The New York Times (NYT) reported that Leavitt is expected to provide commentary on Fox News opinion and news programs, among others.
On the same day, Fox Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement, "Karoline's firsthand experience at the White House and on the campaign trail offers a unique understanding of today's political landscape." Leavitt also said in a statement, "I will bring to Fox News the unique perspective and candor that characterized my time in the Trump administration."
Leavitt was tapped as press secretary when the second Trump administration began in 2025. At 27, she was the youngest-ever press secretary. She vigorously defended Trump in an aggressive and one-sided tone, often criticizing reporters' questions as "a really stupid question."
Trump said on Truth Social on Aug. 12, "Leavitt, a great White House press secretary and one of my most trusted advisers, is stepping down from her position at the end of this month to spend more time with her young children and family." On Aug. 21, Leavitt announced that she would work for a super PAC, a political fundraising organization associated with Trump. She is expected to work for one such super PAC, "MAGA," although her specific title and duties have not been confirmed.
This is not the first time a Trump administration official has appeared on Fox News. Kayleigh McEnany, who served as the final White House press secretary of Trump's first administration, began working as a Fox News contributor in 2021 and now hosts her own program. Lara Trump, Trump's second daughter-in-law, also hosts a weekly program on Fox News.
