Lee Soo-young suspends radio show after son is diagnosed with leukemia: "A time when I need to stay by his side"

[Financial News]  Singer Lee Soo-young will take a temporary break from hosting her radio show to care for her son as he undergoes treatment for leukemia.
According to Star News on the 5th, Lee Soo-young posted a message on the notice board of the CBS Music FM program "Lee Soo-young’s Let’s Meet at Noon," saying, "I think everyone must have wondered why I had not been heard from since Chuseok without saying anything."
Lee Soo-young said her son was diagnosed with leukemia while undergoing hospital tests before the Chuseok holiday. She said, "The reason is that our child suddenly became ill before the Chuseok holiday, and while he was undergoing tests at the hospital, he was diagnosed with acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia and had to be admitted. He has now started treatment and is enduring it well."
Regarding her son's condition during treatment, she stated, "He is undergoing tests and treatment that would be difficult for a child so young to endure, but he has been bravely and admirably holding up so well that I, his mother, am amazed. As I watch him by his side, I am also trying to steel myself and get through each day with him."
She also explained why she decided to take a break from the radio show. Lee Soo-young added, "However, the expected treatment period is extremely long, and especially in the early stages, intensive chemotherapy will continue. Since I am in a situation where I cannot take my eyes off my child for even a moment, I have regrettably decided to take a temporary break from hosting 'Lee Soo-young’s Let’s Meet at Noon.'"
She then asked listeners for their understanding. Lee Soo-young said, "I feel sad and sorry that I will not be able to meet you for the time being, but I believe this is a time when, above all else, I need to stay by my child's side as a mother so that my child can get through this difficult treatment. I sincerely ask everyone to understand this difficult decision with generosity."
Meanwhile, Lee Soo-young married in 2010 and had a son the following year. Born in 2011, her son is 16 this year.
