[Financial News]  LG Uplus is joining forces with global subscription platform company Bango to expand its reach in overseas AI and content services.
LG Uplus announced on the 5th that it would work with Bango to strengthen the global AI and content service lineup of its subscription platform Yudok.
As the first outcome of the partnership, the two companies will launch a video-editing AI service on Yudok in November. They also plan to add global content services, including generative AI, productivity AI, and creative AI, in stages.
Yudok is LG Uplus' subscription platform, allowing users to subscribe to and manage products in areas such as AI, over-the-top (OTT) streaming services, education, and lifestyle in one place. Through the partnership, the companies plan to make overseas AI services available on Yudok that have not yet been widely introduced in Korea or are cumbersome to subscribe to individually.
The two companies will cooperate in identifying AI and content services in Korea and abroad, integrating new subscription services, developing bundled offerings tailored to demand, and expanding the digital subscription ecosystem. To that end, they will use Bango's subscription integration platform, Digital Vending Machine (DVM). DVM connects digital service providers worldwide with telecommunications operators and platform companies, enabling various subscription services to be integrated and distributed through a single platform.
LG Uplus plans to use DVM to streamline the processes for contracting new services, integrating systems, and launching products. The company expects to add new AI and content offerings to Yudok more quickly by reducing the burden of integrating each overseas service separately.
Jo Yong-sung, an executive in charge of partnership business at LG Uplus, said, "We will continue to strengthen Yudok's AI subscription capabilities so that users can access a wide range of global AI services more easily and conveniently."
