GC Biopharma Marks 59th Anniversary: "Revolutionizing How We Work with AI and Data"

GC Biopharma emphasized innovation in work processes through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and data, along with the pooling of capabilities among its affiliates, as it marked its 59th anniversary. Ahead of its 60th anniversary next year, the company plans to strengthen the competitiveness of its existing businesses while expanding its foundation for global growth. According to industry sources on the 4th, GC chairman Heo Il-seop said at a ceremony marking the company's 59th anniversary at GC Biopharma's headquarters in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on the 2nd, "This year, we demonstrated the competitiveness of our core businesses, secured future growth engines, and laid the foundation for a major leap forward."
Heo mentioned the achievements of major affiliates, including ALYGLO's growth in the U.S. market and the expansion of global operations. He identified capabilities in using AI and data as key factors that will determine corporate competitiveness in the future.
He emphasized, "As capabilities in using AI and data are becoming a new standard for corporate competitiveness, all employees should actively use them to improve productivity and efficiency and revolutionize how we work."
Ahead of the company's 60th anniversary next year, Heo also called for greater synergy among affiliates. He said, "Let us organically connect the technologies and experience, achievements and strengths accumulated by each affiliate to create greater value."
The ceremony also included awards for employees who contributed to the company's development. Nam Hyo-jeong, head of GC Biopharma's Discovery2 Team, received the Green Cross Grand Medal. Four employees, including Bae Baek-sik, head of GC Biopharma's Strategy and Business Development Office, and Kim Young-seok, head of GC Biopharma EM's Technical Sales Team 1, received the Green Cross Medal.
Twenty-three teams, including the Management Audit Team of GC's Compliance Support Office, received group commendations. Sixty-six people, including Oh Chang-taek, head of GC Biopharma Wellbeing's MA·TR Team, received commendations for excellence. Long-service awards were presented to 332 people, including Kim Suk-hoon, CEO of IniBio.
Sixteen affiliates, including GC Biopharma, participated in the ceremony. Employees at sites nationwide, including the Ochang, Hwasun and Eumseong plants, joined the event online.
