[Financial News] Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, criticized President Lee Jae Myung on the 4th over North Korea's launch of a ballistic missile into the East Sea the previous day, asking, "Are you planning to call the missile provocation an 'accidental launch'?"
Jang Dong-hyuk made the remarks in a Facebook post that day, writing, "President Lee Jae Myung still has not said a word."
Jang Dong-hyuk claimed, "The president begged North Korea for peace even on Armed Forces Day," and added, "In front of our troops after one of their comrades lost an ankle, he called it an 'unexpected accident.'" He continued, "North Korea mocked the president's 'Jwa-a' response as a 'self-produced farce' and answered with missiles."
Regarding Kim Yo Jong, head of the General Affairs Department of North Korea's Workers' Party, saying in a statement immediately after the missile launch, "There is virtually no way to avoid this strike," Jang Dong-hyuk called it "an open threat to our people."
Jang Dong-hyuk also criticized the Office of National Security for describing North Korea's missile launch as "a grave act that does nothing to help manage the current situation," saying, "With land mines exploding and missiles flying, calling this 'situation management' is unbelievably complacent."
He added, "President Lee Jae Myung is beating up only Ukraine," citing a netizen's comment beneath an article about the president: "If it had been 'Jwakraine,' he would have even sent troops."
The People Power Party also continued its offensive against the government's North Korea policy, using the missile launch as a springboard.
Choi Bo-yoon, the party's chief spokesperson, said in a commentary that day, "Just one day after Kim Yo Jong ridiculed our government's proposal for inter-Korean dialogue as a 'delusion,' North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the East Sea," calling it "the 15th ballistic-missile provocation of the year."
Choi Bo-yoon stated, "Even in the face of North Korea's arrogance in dismissing even an offer of dialogue as a 'delusion,' the Lee Jae Myung administration continues to maintain a submissive posture," and claimed, "An unprincipled policy of appeasement has ended up only raising the level of North Korea's provocations."
