[Financial News] Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon sharply criticized the controversy surrounding the "bullet mark tickets" for the movie *Assassin(s)*, calling it "thoughtless behavior that has gone far beyond the bounds of decency." The bullet mark tickets are merchandise distributed to moviegoers at a theater, and it is known that if a transparent ticket is placed over the ticket, a bullet hole appears.
Mayor Oh criticized on Facebook that day, saying, "Before being the First Lady of the Republic of Korea, Yuk Young-soo was a wife and the mother of three children," and asked, "Should even that horrific moment when she lost her life to a bullet at the Liberation Day ceremony watched by countless citizens become the subject of 'merchandise' to be held in one's hands and enjoyed?"
He also said, "I do not want a society where the state dictates the content of art and sets the boundaries of creation," but added, "The freer a society is, the more certain lines must be respected."
Mayor Oh also remarked that the world is watching Korean culture. He emphasized, "We must draw a clear line so that low-class commercial behaviors that tarnish the dignity of global Korean popular culture can no longer take root," adding, "I hope those involved apologize to the bereaved families and the public and take responsible measures accordingly."
He added, "A society where human suffering becomes material for stimulation and tragedy becomes a commodity for entertainment cannot be called an advanced society," stating, "Low-level commercialism that throws away even human dignity cannot be tolerated under any pretext and deserves national condemnation."
