[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump claimed, "I have brought more to Alaska than anyone in human history." Attention is focused on the remark as Seoul and Washington appear to have differing positions over whether to finalize investment in an Alaska liquefied natural gas (LNG) development project.
On the 4th, President Trump said on the social media platform Truth Social, "Nothing and no one came close to my record," adding, "Please reelect Senator Sullivan." Dan Sullivan is the Republican candidate for U.S. senator from Alaska.
President Trump described Sullivan as "a true patriot and a proud Marine." He credited Sullivan with playing a key role in congressional votes to rebuild the U.S. military and develop Alaska's energy resources.
The remarks came after President Trump announced on the 30th of last month that "South Korea has agreed to invest $50 billion in the Alaska LNG project." In response, the South Korean government said, "No decision has been made on whether to invest."
President Trump has recently focused on rallying the Republican base by posting a series of video messages on social media. This year's U.S. midterm elections will be held on November 3. President Trump said, "This is the most important midterm election in history," and added, "Let's defeat the Democratic Party with such an overwhelming victory that we cannot rig the outcome."
In another video, President Trump announced, "Using the 'fund to improve medical assistance for seniors (Medicare),' I will pay more than 20 million beneficiaries an amount close to $100 within days."
