[Financial News] Large-scale rallies and events are expected to cause traffic congestion in various parts of central Seoul on the October 3 National Foundation Day holiday.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, the Liberty Unification Party (LUP) will hold a rally around Sejong-daero in front of the Dongwha Duty Free store from 1 p.m. on October 3. After the rally, participants will march from 4 p.m. through Saemunan-ro and Jahamun-ro to Singyo Intersection.
The People Power Party, Ten Million People Movement Headquarters, The Armed Forces Veterans Union for Saving Korea, and Palestine Solidarity will also hold rallies from 3 to 5 p.m. around Sungnyemun Gate (Namdaemun), Seoul Station and Bosingak, and are scheduled to march toward Jongno and Euljiro. In particular, a 10,000-person "National Rally Condemning the Government" is planned, raising expectations of congestion on major roads, including Sejong-daero.
A large-scale event will also take place in the Gangnam area. The 2026 Gangnam Festival will be held from October 3 through October 5 on Dosan-daero, between Dosan Park Intersection and Hakdong Intersection. A large street parade will run from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on October 3, and vehicle traffic will be temporarily restricted on a roughly 730-meter section between Cheongdam Sageori Intersection and Hakdong Intersection before and after the event.
In addition, Candlelight Action will hold a rally calling for the impeachment of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court around Seocho Station from 5 to 7:30 p.m., with about 5,000 participants. After the rally, the group plans to march to the area around Gangnam Station using two lanes of Gangnam-daero.
