On the 2nd, Busan Bank said, "Personal information belonging to 11 outsourced development employees was leaked in a vulnerability attack targeting systems including the internal mobile sales-support system." Busan Bank is believed to have confirmed the leak at around 4:30 p.m. that day.
The leaked information included names, phone numbers, email addresses, and dates of birth.
Busan Bank has completed measures to block the affected webpage and has reported the incident to the financial authorities and the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC).
Busan Bank said, "We notified the outsourced development company and the employees involved," adding, "We have taken measures to strengthen continuous monitoring for similar attacks."
Meanwhile, an incident at Shinhan Bank the previous day resulted in the personal information of about 25,000 customers being leaked. The leaked data included customer names, phone numbers, annual incomes, and calculated loan limits. KB Kookmin Bank and Bank of Hope also reported that customers' personal credit information had been leaked by external hacking groups that day.
