On the afternoon of the 2nd, a second rescue operation was under way to return Bukang-i, a shark that had been staying for 15 days in an artificial waterway at Busan North Port Waterfront Park in Busan's Dong-gu district, to the sea. With a net set up near the waterway, the shark Bukang-i was fleeing to avoid it. News1 provided the footage.

[Financial News] The second rescue operation to return the shark 'Bukang-i,' which has been swimming around the artificial waterway at Busan North Port Waterfront Park, to the sea was unsuccessful, at least for now.
According to Busan city officials and others on the 2nd, relevant agencies, including the city government and the National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS), halted efforts to guide Bukang-i toward the open sea at around 5:40 p.m.
Starting at 3:30 p.m. that day, the city government, NIFS and other relevant agencies deployed large nets 50 meters long and 6.8 meters high on both sides of the waterway. They used vessels to create waves and slowly drove Bukang-i toward the sea.
The operation was halted when Bukang-i was about 100 meters from the sea. As they approached the open sea, the water became deeper and the net became caught on rocks, making it difficult to move the shark any farther toward the sea.
Instead, the relevant agencies secured both ends of the net to prevent Bukang-i from moving back farther into the waterway.
