A total of 85 Konkuk University students were selected for the Ministry of Education-sponsored '2026 Promising Student Start-up Team 300+' program, the largest number among universities nationwide. The figure nearly doubled from 43 last year.
'Promising Student Start-up Team 300+' is a program that identifies student start-up teams with innovative ideas and technologies and supports their commercialization. This year, 85 Konkuk University students were selected, and 18 of the teams are led by Konkuk University students.
The selected teams are working in fields including artificial intelligence (AI) and software (SW), eco-friendly solutions and resource circulation, biotech and wellness, and hardware. Dojeon, led by Lior, an Israeli international student in the Department of Korean Language and Literature, ranked first in the international student track. The team is developing a Korean-language learning system for Hebrew speakers.
Konkuk University supported the teams with business-plan writing, investor-relations (IR) pitching to attract investment, and one-on-one mentoring. The final selected students will receive a Ministry of Education certificate and a 500,000-won scholarship.
Won Jong-pil, president of Konkuk University, said, "After ranking first nationwide in the number of student start-up companies for two consecutive years, Konkuk University also had the largest number of students selected for the Promising Student Start-up Team 300+ program among universities nationwide. We will systematically nurture promising student start-up teams so they can grow into actual companies."
