[Financial News] BNK Busan Bank said on the 2nd that it would operate an industry advisory panel composed of experts from various sectors and step up its industrial finance efforts to support the growth of regional companies and strengthen industrial competitiveness.
The industry advisory panel will consist of around 30 external experts across 10 sectors, including shipbuilding and marine industries, semiconductors, mobility, robotics, energy, defense, and biotechnology. Professors, corporate executives, researchers, and specialist analysts will participate, offering expert views on industry outlooks, technological competitiveness, and business prospects.
Busan Bank plans to use the panel's opinions as reference material during its corporate lending reviews. In addition to existing financial information and credit ratings, the bank will comprehensively assess each company's industry characteristics, technological capabilities, and growth potential to provide the financing it needs. Through this approach, it aims to expand productive finance.
In particular, the bank plans to strengthen financial support for startups and venture companies with growth potential while enhancing its financial expertise in the region's key industries.
It will also use the industry advisory panel for employee training and to share industry trends. This will help employees in the field better understand each industry and provide financial services tailored to the characteristics and growth stage of each company.
Junseop Noh, head of Busan Bank's Sales Support Group, said, "We will closely assess companies' future value by adding expertise from the industrial front lines to their financial information," and added, "We will expand industrial finance so that companies with growth potential can obtain the funding they need."
Meanwhile, at the second-half integrated business operations meeting held at its head office that day, Busan Bank hosted a special lecture by industry advisory panel member Lim Byeong-yeon, former CEO of Lotte Chemical, on the theme "Finance That Reads Industry." About 250 executives, branch managers, and other employees attended. The lecture was organized to enhance employees' understanding of industries and expand financial support for companies with growth potential by applying external experts' industry knowledge and field experience to banking operations.
