According to legal sources on the 2nd, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office decided on the 18th of last month not to indict President Kim on allegations of occupational embezzlement and violating the Private School Act, citing insufficient evidence.
President Kim had been suspected of using university funds to pay for legal advice and litigation costs that were not directly related to educational purposes.
The case began when the Women's Party reported seven school officials, including President Kim and Jo Won-young, chair of Dongduk Hakwon, on charges of breach of trust and embezzlement on December 17, 2024.
Earlier, Jongam Police Station forwarded President Kim to prosecutors without detention in November last year. It determined that the allegations against the other six people reported along with her were not substantiated and declined to forward their cases.
