[Financial News] President Lee Jae Myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung continued their public welfare activities on the 2nd by visiting Yeongcheon Market in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, and meeting with merchants and citizens.
President Lee and his wife visited Yeongcheon Market after attending the "30th Senior Citizens' Day Ceremony" on this day. Kang Yoo-jung, Senior Spokesperson for Cheong Wa Dae, conveyed in a written briefing that although the area was relatively quiet when the couple arrived, citizens gathered in small groups as news of their visit spread, quickly filling the surroundings with activity.
President Lee and his wife toured the market, greeting merchants and personally purchasing items such as plums, chicken, and dumplings. They also warmly responded to requests from citizens for handshakes and commemorative photos.
Afterwards, he moved to an ox knee soup restaurant in the market and had lunch with his staff. At the gathering, he shared the food purchased from the market with other customers and engaged in natural conversation.
After finishing lunch, President Lee and his wife left the market, seeing off the chairman and vice-chairman of the merchants' association and the citizens.
