[Financial News] Park Sung-hu, competing in his first international event, won the silver medal in the men's 94kg jiu-jitsu division.
According to sports industry sources on the 2nd, Park Sung-hu lost to Omar Tariq N. Nada of Saudi Arabia by submission 4 minutes and 11 seconds into the final of the men's 94kg jiu-jitsu division at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, held at the Aichi Prefectural Budokan in Nagoya, Japan.
Park fell behind after conceding two points and one advantage early in the match. He could not withstand his opponent's joint-lock attacks and eventually tapped out.
Park Sung-hu pulled off an upset in the semifinals by defeating Iran's formidable Puriya Taherkhani 2-0.
Kim Hee-dong, who competed in the men's 94kg division, won a valuable bronze medal. He defeated Iran's Taherkhani 5-2 by decision in the bronze-medal match.
Meanwhile, the men's 77kg bronze-medal match featured an all-Korean matchup. After a closely fought bout, Park Jae-won defeated fellow Korea Jiu-Jitsu Association athlete Gu Bon-cheol 6-4.
