[Financial News] A man in his 60s who sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s with an intellectual disability and got her pregnant admitted all the charges against him at trial.
According to legal sources, Criminal Division 14 of the Incheon District Court, presided over by Judge Son Seung-beom, held the first public trial on the 2nd for a 66-year-old man who had been detained and indicted on charges of quasi-rape of a person with a disability under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes.
The defendant's attorney said, "We admit all the facts alleged in the indictment."
According to the prosecution's allegations, the man was an executive at a workplace employing persons with disabilities registered with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities (KEAD). He allegedly used his position to sexually assault a woman in her 20s with an intellectual disability, who worked at the same company, multiple times in and around Incheon from last summer through June this year. He was fired from the workplace after the incident.
The victim had Level 2 intellectual disability. Investigators found that her cognitive ability was equivalent to that of a 7-year-old and her level of self-defense to that of a 4-year-old. She reportedly became pregnant as a result of sexual intercourse with the accused and recently gave birth.
