[Financial News] In connection with President Lee Jae Myung photographing and posting a confidential document on X, formerly Twitter, Joo Jin-woo, a lawmaker from the People Power Party, said on the 2nd that he had filed a complaint alleging the disclosure of official secrets.
Joo Jin-woo filed the complaint against President Lee Jae Myung with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency that day and said, "The president is a public official, too. Public officials who have disclosed official secrets in the course of their duties have been punished without exception."
He said, "Cheong Wa Dae explained that 'the president may disclose confidential documents.' Is the president some kind of king?" He urged, "If that's how you're going to defend it, disclose all the documents related to the NEC special counsel that have been reported to President Lee Jae Myung so far."
Earlier, on September 29, President Lee Jae Myung posted on social media a photograph he had taken of a confidential document titled the "Daily Comprehensive Situation Report," which contained statistics showing that voice-phishing losses had declined. He accompanied it with a message saying, "Please praise public officials, including those from the police, the Financial Services Commission (FSC), and the National Intelligence Service (NIS)."
Joo Jin-woo claimed that beneath the photograph of the document posted by President Lee Jae Myung at the time, phrases believed to include "NEC special counsel, recount of ballots inside the Handball Stadium at Olympic Park" were partially cut off and exposed. He called this "compelling direct evidence that [President Lee Jae Myung] is colluding with or surveilling the NEC special counsel."
