Hacking Incident Also Hits KB Kookmin Bank, Exposing Information of More Than 100 Customers

[Financial News] Following Shinhan Bank, a hacking incident at KB Kookmin Bank has also resulted in the leakage of customer information.
According to financial authorities and sources in the financial sector on the 2nd, KB Kookmin Bank recently confirmed that approximately 100 records of customer information had been leaked through external intrusion.
The bank reportedly blocked the affected server and access route immediately after recognizing the possibility that the information had been leaked through abnormal external access.
The system from which the customer information was leaked is known to be a mobile work-support system for employees. The bank said the incident was unrelated to customers' financial transactions, including internet banking and mobile banking.
The Financial Services Commission (FSC) and the Financial Supervisory Service reportedly received a report on the incident from KB Kookmin Bank and are discussing response measures.
