Autumn foliage in the summit area of Balwangsan Mountain at MONA Yongpyong in Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province, is expected to reach its peak this weekend and continue down the mountain slopes through mid-October.
MONA Yongpyong said on the 2nd that autumn foliage in the summit area of 1,458-meter-high Balwangsan Mountain is expected to peak on the 3rd and 4th.
At the summit, a landscape unfolds with red- and yellow-tinged trees interspersed with evergreens. As the foliage moves down the mountain slopes, visitors are expected to enjoy the autumn scenery through mid-October.
The Balwangsan Cable Car operates along a 7.4-kilometer round-trip route and takes about 18 minutes one way to reach the summit area. Passengers can take in the foliage on the mountain slopes from eight-person cabins, while the Balwangsan Skywalk at the summit offers views of the surrounding mountain ridges.
At the Balwangsan Forest Wooden Walkway, a barrier-free wooden trail, visitors can slowly walk through a forest where yew trees and autumn foliage blend together while enjoying the fall scenery.
Cable car operations may change depending on weather conditions. Detailed operating information is available on MONA Yongpyong's official website.
