Cho Hyun met with reporters covering the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 2nd and said, "The numerous summit diplomacy agreements are not stopping at diplomatic rhetoric; they are being pursued systematically and with speed."
MOFA said it had worked closely with relevant ministries to break the agreements down into 610 specific performance tasks and was managing them meticulously. It added that 212 tasks, or about 35% of the total, had already been completed or produced notable tangible results. The remaining 382 tasks were also proceeding without disruption, it said.
Cho Hyun also said, "The priority tasks in following up on summit diplomacy are to expand opportunities for our companies to advance overseas, remove obstacles to business activities, and ensure that the resulting gains become drivers of national economic growth and development."
As part of this effort, MOFA said it had established the Summit Diplomacy Performance Management Task Force within the ministry. The task force reviews implementation progress by country and sector every month and regularly holds review meetings within MOFA and with relevant ministries.
