[Financial News] The government is accepting public recommendations for the first time for candidates to serve as private-sector members of the Literary Promotion Policy Committee, which advises on policies to promote literature. Previously, recommendations were primarily solicited from literary organizations and institutions, but this time anyone may recommend themselves or experts they know.
The Ministry of Personnel Management said on the 2nd that it is accepting recommendations through the 23rd on the Public Recommendation System website for candidates to serve as private-sector members of the third Literary Promotion Policy Committee. Eligible candidates include writers, critics and others with expertise and extensive field experience in literary creation, publishing or distribution.
The Literary Promotion Policy Committee is an advisory body established under the Literature Promotion Act within the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST). It advises on major matters related to the promotion of literature, including the formulation and implementation of basic plans for literary promotion.
MCST plans to appoint 15 private-sector members in November after a committee composed of leading figures from the literary community reviews candidates recommended by the public and relevant organizations.
Lee Eun-young, director general for talent information planning, said, "I hope that expanding pathways for discovering talent through public recommendations will help connect outstanding people from across society with the public sector." She added, "We look forward to greater collaboration and participation in selecting candidates for various positions where talent discovery is needed."
