[Financial News, Incheon = Reporter Han Gap-su] The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education will review the pledge implementation plan of the fifth directly elected superintendent of education while reflecting the opinions of citizens and students.
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 2nd that it appointed 50 resident jurors for the 2026 superintendent's pledge implementation evaluation team and held their first meeting in its video conference room on the 1st.
The resident jury panel was formed through random selection among Incheon Metropolitan City residents and currently enrolled middle and high school students, taking gender, age and region into account. This year, 10 students are participating as jurors to review the superintendent's pledges from a student perspective.
Starting with the first meeting held that day, the resident jury panel will review the pledge implementation plan of the fifth directly elected superintendent of education over three meetings: the second meeting on the 15th and the third on the 29th.
Each meeting will include explanations of projects by the departments responsible for the pledges, question-and-answer sessions and discussions in smaller groups. The participants will discuss the feasibility of the pledge implementation plans and ways to improve them.
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education plans to revise and supplement the pledge implementation plan based on the resident jury panel's discussions and recommendations before finalizing it.
Superintendent Do Seong-hoon recorded a 99.1% pledge fulfillment rate during his fourth term as the directly elected superintendent and received the “2026 Manifesto Pledge Awards (Local Election Category),” organized by the Korea Manifesto Center. The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education plans to faithfully fulfill its pledges during the fifth term as well.
Superintendent Do Seong-hoon said, "Because pledges are promises made to citizens, it is important to review the pledge implementation plan from the perspective of citizens and students and listen to their opinions." He added, "I will further refine the plan based on the resident jury panel's views."
