JIPYONG LLC Strengthens Defense Acquisition Litigation Practice by Recruiting Attorney Keum Beom-soo [Law Firm News]

[Financial News] JIPYONG LLC recruited attorney Keum Beom-soo (Photo) to strengthen its defense acquisition litigation practice.
JIPYONG LLC announced on the 2nd that it had recruited attorney Keum, who handled defense acquisition management, defense exports, and litigation at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
He worked in the Office of International Cooperation, the Office of Planning and Coordination, and the Firepower Program Division at DAPA, handling defense exports to the Middle East, litigation, and work with the Integrated Project Team (IPT). He gained practical experience spanning defense acquisition program management, legal affairs, and international cooperation.
Attorney Keum worked as a special investigator at a special counsel's office, where he also handled corruption investigations and criminal trial-related matters. He currently serves as a member of the DAPA Contract Deliberation Committee and as an adviser to the Maneuver Program Division.
He has also conducted research on defense capability enhancement programs and defense intellectual property. He has handled legal issues involving intellectual property (IP), including government contracts in the defense industry, technical data, patent rights, and trade secrets.
Attorney Keum will join the Jipyong Global Defense and Security Team, where he will handle litigation and advisory work related to the defense industry and public contracts. His responsibilities will also include delay penalties, sanctions against ineligible contractors, defense-industry cost accounting, defense exports, intellectual property, and legislative consulting, as well as investigations and trial responses in defense-related criminal cases.
The Jipyong Global Defense and Security Team handles defense procurement, export controls, responses to economic sanctions, overseas investment and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), prevention of technology leaks and technology transfers, and criminal risk management.
Jae Young KANG, head of the Jipyong Global Defense and Security Team, said, "With Attorney Keum Beom-soo joining us, we will strengthen our ability to advise on various legal issues related to defense acquisition, including intellectual property and contracts," adding, "We expect to respond more effectively to the various risks that arise as defense companies carry out their business."
