[Financial News] LG Household & Health Care's laundry brand 'Piji Moraxella' surpassed KRW 60 billion in cumulative sales just over two years after its launch.
According to LG Household & Health Care on the 2nd, Piji Moraxella has been performing well on Coupang, one of its key sales channels. Its flagship product, 'Moraxella Laundry Detergent,' ranked No. 1 in Coupang's laundry detergent category for three consecutive months starting in July.
The 'Moraxella Odor Eliminating Booster,' which is used by placing one tablet in the washing machine at a time, has also surpassed 50 million units in cumulative sales.
LG Household & Health Care explained that demand for the products has remained strong regardless of the season. Sales from August 16 to 31 increased 8.6% from the first half of the month. Sales from September 1 to 15 also rose 13% compared with the same period in August.
Built on LG Household & Health Care's 65 years of detergent research expertise, Piji Moraxella has cleansing ingredients that are three times stronger than those in the company's existing detergents. The company says the product addresses the root cause of odor by removing 99.9% of 4M3H (4-Methylhex-3-enoic acid), a major substance responsible for the musty smell in laundry. Influencer marketing, including a collaboration with YouTuber MIMIMINU, has also received a positive response.
A Piji Moraxella representative said, "We achieved these results thanks to the empathy of customers who directly experienced the product's effectiveness," adding, "We will continue to introduce products that can ease consumers' laundry-related concerns through ongoing research and development."
