[Financial News] Amorepacific has unveiled research findings on skin science using artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies at the IFSCC Congress.
Amorepacific announced on the 2nd that it presented a total of nine research findings at the IFSCC Congress, held in Perth, Australia, from the 28th of last month through the 1st.
At the congress, Amorepacific introduced research findings that used AI, deep learning, and digital measurement technologies to analyze and predict changes in the skin, product-use experiences, and consumer responses.
The company presented technology that combines more than 20 years of accumulated thermal-aging research with transcriptomic analysis and deep learning to predict the progression of skin aging and ingredient efficacy. Choi Eun-jung, the Amorepacific researcher in charge of the study, also identified ingredients effective in restoring skin structures damaged by aging. The research was selected for an outstanding basic research presentation.
Amorepacific also unveiled technology that quantifies product sensory experiences as data. Researcher Lee Jung-yu visualized in real time the distribution and movement of moisture that occur when a product is applied to the skin, while measuring electrical changes to quantitatively analyze interactions between the skin and the formulation. The study was selected for an outstanding applied research presentation.
The company also conducted global consumer research using AI. An analysis of Brazilian and Mexican consumers' experiences with derma cosmetics through AI-based video interviews found that fast absorption, a lightweight feel, and skin barrier-care benefits were among the key factors driving consumer preferences.
Seo Byung-hwi, head of Amorepacific's R&I Center and CTO, said, "We will combine AI and digital technologies with our accumulated skin science research to expand our work into prediction, quantification, and data-driven understanding of consumers."
