[Financial News] A science exhibition that makes the normally difficult-to-understand field of quantum mechanics accessible through storytelling centered on a magic school and a variety of hands-on activities is drawing attention.
The Busan National Science Museum announced on the 2nd that it will host the collaborative exhibition "Quantum Magic School," held in partnership with the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS), free of charge at its small exhibition hall on the first floor from this month through November 22.
The exhibition explains the principles of quantum mechanics—phenomena that occur in the extremely small world of molecules and atoms—through a magic school story and a variety of hands-on activities.
The exhibition is designed to help visitors explore the quantum world by following a story in which they enroll in a magic school, attend classes, and grow into "quantum wizards."
Visitors can also experience a quantum computer, which processes information using quantum mechanical phenomena. A 50-qubit-class quantum computer model and an actual quantum information processing unit (QPU) demonstrate how quantum technology is used in advanced technologies.
A graduation experience in which visitors who complete their quantum magic lessons become a "Quantum Wizard Cat" adds fun through augmented reality (AR) technology.
The exhibition is free for everyone, and guided exhibition tours are also available.
Kwon Su-jin, head of the Science Culture Division at the museum, said, "Quantum mechanics is an important field that forms the foundation for next-generation technologies that will drive future industries. I hope this exhibition will give children and families an opportunity to follow its magical stories and hands-on activities and easily and enjoyably understand the basic concepts of quantum science."
