[Financial News] Busan Metropolitan City Government and Busan Techno Park (TP) said on the 2nd that they operated the "Visiting Good Job Bus" program on the 1st, taking local young people to visit HYOSEONG ELECTRIC and SB Seonbo, which were selected as Busan anchor companies under the Manucorn initiative.
The Visiting Good Job Bus program is a field-oriented, employment-linked initiative that allows young people in Busan to tour leading local companies and communicate with human resources representatives. This year, the program was carried out in partnership with the Busan Anchor Center, focusing on the Manucorn project to foster Busan's leading manufacturing companies.
The Manucorn project is a portmanteau of Manufacture and Unicorn. It is designed to foster leading local manufacturing companies identified and selected jointly by Busan Metropolitan City Government and its citizens.
Before the event, the Busan Anchor Center established selection criteria based on companies' recruitment needs, considering major-related suitability and balanced representation among universities. In cooperation with local universities, it selected a total of 25 job-seeking young people.
The participants split into morning and afternoon groups to explore two leading local manufacturing companies. In the morning, they visited HYOSEONG ELECTRIC, which has the world's second-largest market share in electric motors, or blower motors, for automotive heating and air-conditioning systems. They toured the company's testing laboratories and new factory and received explanations of related job functions.
In the afternoon, they visited SB Seonbo, an eco-friendly shipbuilding, marine and energy leader that was the first in the world to introduce modular units for ships. After touring the production site and design center, the participants took part in a tailored recruitment question-and-answer session with a current human resources representative.
One student who attended the site visit said, "Being able to hear directly from a current human resources representative about the skills required for each job was a great help in determining how to prepare for future employment."
Seo Hyeong-pil, acting president of Busan Techno Park, said, "This Visiting Good Job Bus was a meaningful occasion for Manucorn companies that will lead Busan's future and local young people to meet face to face at the workplace. We will continue to strengthen industry-academia-linked employment support through close cooperation with relevant organizations so that local talent can successfully establish themselves at leading local anchor companies."
