[Financial News] Hankook Tire has been named one of the "World's Best Companies 2026" selected by U.S. newsweekly TIME. The recognition reflects three consecutive years of business growth, including tire-segment revenue surpassing KRW 10 trillion for the first time since the company's founding, as well as its sustainability management achievements. The company said its competitiveness in ESG, following the expansion of premium products and growth in global sales, has also been recognized externally.
Hankook Tire & Technology announced on the 2nd that it had been included in the "World's Best Companies 2026" list jointly selected by TIME and global market research firm Statista.
TIME and Statista select 1,000 of the world's best companies each year based on a comprehensive evaluation of employee satisfaction, corporate growth over the past three years, and key ESG indicators.
Hankook Tire received high marks for its business growth over the past three years. Tire-segment revenue reached KRW 10.3186 trillion last year, surpassing KRW 10 trillion for the first time since the company's founding. The expansion of its portfolio around premium products and increased sales in major global markets drove the improvement in performance.
The company is also increasing its investment in sustainability management. In February this year, Hankook Tire signed a long-term power purchase agreement for renewable energy at the Hankook Tire Hungary Plant, among other initiatives to expand its procurement of renewable energy.
The number of production sites that have obtained the international sustainability certification ISCC PLUS has also expanded to four global locations: Geumsan Plant, Daejeon Plant, Hankook Tire Hungary Plant, and Jiaxing Plant in China.
The recently published "2025/26 ESG Report" newly incorporates the group's common ESG management framework and integrated materiality assessment framework. It also discloses progress in areas such as expanding the use of sustainable raw materials, supply chain management, and human rights management.
Hankook Tire is also accelerating its carbon-reduction efforts. The company has set a goal of achieving net zero by 2050 and is pursuing reduction targets for 2030. In 2023, it became the first company in South Korea's tire industry to receive approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). In 2024, it obtained the highest rating from the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the "FIA 3-Star Environmental Certification."
Hankook Tire is also pursuing a "Mobility Tech" strategy that combines advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and data. The Hankook & Company Group's social contribution program, "Vehicle Sharing," now includes eco-friendly vehicle models and has expanded demand-tailored support.
Earlier, in 2024, Hankook Tire was also named one of the "World's Best Sustainable Companies" jointly selected by TIME and Statista, as well as one of the "Asia-Pacific Environmental Leaders" selected by the Financial Times (FT) and Statista.
