[Financial News] Lotteria, operated by LOTTE GRS, is holding a pop-up event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Hangul Day's establishment.

According to industry sources on the 2nd, Lotteria, operated by LOTTE GRS, is holding the "Matkkallia—Hangul Day's 100th-Birthday Celebration" event through the 11th to mark the 100th anniversary of Hangul Day's establishment. The event uses native Korean words to express flavors.
The event is taking place at three locations: Lotteria's Hongdae branch, Jamsil Lotte World Mall B1 branch, and Seoul Station branch. Planned under the theme "The Great Hangul That Expresses Every Flavor in the World," it has been designed as a pop-up space where visitors can experience Lotteria's dedicated typeface, "Ria-che." The event reinterprets the beauty of Hangul by combining its rich expressive power with the distinctive flavors of Lotteria's menu.
The interiors of each store have been decorated with graphic sheets featuring Ria-che and Lotteria's original character, "Lotteriang." Commemorative sculptures have also been installed to create photo zones. An event is being held as well. Among customers who photograph the pop-up stores and post proof on social media by the 11th, 50 winners selected by lottery will receive limited-edition Hangul Day T-shirts.
Lotteria also focused on Hangul's ability to express a wide range of flavors, rendering eight flavors and textures found in its menu through native Korean words and newly coined expressions. Native Korean terms such as "Dalbodeure" and "Algeundalgeun," along with newly combined expressions such as "Waguwagung" and "Dutumtaengtaeng," will be displayed in Ria-che graphic posters at the stores.
A LOTTE GRS official said, "To mark the 100th anniversary of Hangul Day's establishment, we planned a Hangul celebration that captures the beauty and expressive power of Hangul through Lotteria's unique sensibility. We hope customers will experience the meaning of Hangul in a more accessible and enjoyable way."
