[Financial News] An exhibition showcasing ways to bring plants into everyday spaces—including the kitchen, bedside areas and desks, as well as living rooms—will be held at Seoul Botanic Park. Seoul Botanic Park said on the 2nd that it will host the special exhibition “Green, Within” from the 7th through Dec. 31 at the Garden Support Office of the Plant Culture Center and Project Hall 2.
The exhibition will feature a different living space decorated with plants each month. In October, plants will be arranged around the kitchen, where families spend much of their time. In November, rooms will be decorated with plants placed beside beds and on desks. In December, visitors will see a balcony garden with a camping atmosphere, designed for relaxing alongside plants.
Visitors can also watch how the exhibition’s decorative items are made. Six live demonstrations will be held at the Garden Support Office on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from Oct. 10 through Dec. 26. Two sessions will be held each day, and no advance reservation is required.
In October, the exhibition will introduce wall-mounted and adhesive planters made from cutting boards. November’s displays will feature moss terrariums and interior decorations. In December, visitors can see how macramé planter covers are made and how a balcony garden is created.
Project Hall 2 on the second floor of the Plant Culture Center will display pressed specimens of useful plants produced by Seoul Botanic Park. The specimens were made using plants propagated in the park’s cultivation greenhouses. In October, 18 specimens representing 17 species classified as Grade II endangered wildlife, including the prickly water lily, will be exhibited. In November, 16 specimens representing 15 rare plant species, including Abelia spathulata, will be shown. In December, 18 specimens representing 15 specialty plant species, including Hallasan goatsbeard, will go on display.
Each specimen includes information about the plant’s characteristics and a photograph taken when it was in bloom. It also indicates where visitors can find the plant at Seoul Botanic Park.
The Garden Support Office exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, while the pressed-plant exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Both are closed on Mondays, and no advance reservation is required.
Meanwhile, Seoul Botanic Park expanded the range of visitors eligible for admission discounts this month. Pregnant women residing in Seoul can enter free of charge. Seoul residents who use the Climate Companion Pass, Moduui Card or K-Pass, as well as users of valid short-term Climate Cards, can receive a 50% admission discount.
On Su-jin, director of Seoul Botanic Park, said, "We hope this exhibition will give visitors an opportunity to discover plants not merely as objects of special hobbies, but as something they can naturally live alongside in everyday spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms and balconies."
