Angelo Corsaro joined 42dot in early September as a senior research fellow. He is an expert in distributed computing, real-time systems, and robotics middleware. Corsaro created the open-source communications protocol "Zenoh" and serves as the project lead for Eclipse Zenoh at the Eclipse Foundation. He also co-founded ZettaScale Technology, where he served as CEO and CTO.
Zenoh is a communications protocol that connects devices ranging from small units such as microcontrollers to data centers and the cloud. At 42dot, Corsaro will work to improve data connectivity and scalability across SDVs, cloud systems, and intelligent mobility platforms.
Kim Jae-young, lead of the Gleo AI Model group, joined 42dot on the 28th of last month. He spent 15 years researching voice-based conversational AI and signal-processing technologies at Google DeepMind, Amazon, Samsung Electronics, and Intel. He holds a doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University and has led early-stage research into audio-native AI that understands and generates speech directly without using text as an intermediary. At 42dot, he will develop speech recognition (STT) and speech synthesis (TTS) technologies suited to in-vehicle noise and multi-speaker environments, while also building low-latency audio-processing architectures.
Chao Fang joined 42dot last month and now leads the SV VLA team. As a senior engineer in NVIDIA's autonomous-driving division, he participated in developing autonomous-driving foundation models and co-led the production deployment of end-to-end perception systems. Previously, he developed computer vision, prediction, and path-planning technologies at Toyota Research Institute and Argo AI. At 42dot, he will lead VLA research that combines visual information recognition, language-based reasoning, and behavior generation in a single model. He will also help advance foundational AI technologies into autonomous-driving solutions that can be applied to real vehicles.
With these hires, 42dot plans to strengthen its capabilities in distributed computing, vehicle software platforms, voice AI, and autonomous driving, supporting Hyundai Motor Group's transition to SDVs. A 42dot spokesperson said, "By combining expertise in each field with 42dot's AI and software capabilities, we will continue driving technological innovation in SDVs, autonomous driving, and intelligent mobility."
