[Financial News] Naver has enhanced search results for 45 cities across six Asian countries to make it easier for users to find overseas travel information. The move strengthens overseas place information and the search experience as the number of users seeking overseas travel information on Naver continues to grow. Following the latest expansion covering major destinations in Asia, Naver plans to gradually add more countries and cities in the Americas.
According to industry sources on the 2nd, the latest update provides more diverse travel-related information in search results for 45 destinations, including major cities in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Singapore, in addition to Japan, as well as Hong Kong and Macau, China's special administrative regions. When users search for one of these countries or cities, essential information such as the weather, exchange rates, visa requirements and recommended travel periods is displayed at the top, along with comprehensive entry guidance and safety notices provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
In addition to basic information about travel destinations, Naver has added a 'Related information' section at the bottom of its travel information collections. The section offers keyword buttons tailored to various themes, allowing users to continue exploring information based on their travel purposes and preferences.
Users can gather travel information through buttons such as Places to visit, Popular restaurants, Travel guides, Things to do, Hotels, When to go and Recommended itineraries.
The content linked through each button incorporates photos and videos of travel destinations posted on Naver Blog and Naver Clip. It also provides professional content produced by tourism boards and travel-specialty media outlets.
Naver also offers collections in which artificial intelligence (AI) selects and recommends a range of things to do, including recently popular restaurants, attractions drawing attention and theme parks, based on travel content posted by users on blogs, cafes and other platforms.
These collections provide lists of popular places. Selecting a place takes users to overseas Places, where they can view detailed information.
