[Financial News] SERIES, the web novel, webtoon and collected-book platform operated by WEBTOON, is running a promotion offering free access to all collected volumes of the popular Japanese manga Tokyo Revengers. This relay promotion follows the free releases of all volumes of Bleach and Naruto. The goal is to strengthen its competitiveness by continuously expanding its lineup of proven titles and maximizing readers' enjoyment.
According to industry sources on October 2, all 31 collected volumes of Tokyo Revengers will be available for free for two weeks, from October 2 through October 15. This is the first time a platform in Korea has offered all volumes of Tokyo Revengers for free. From October 2 through November 12, users can also purchase a discounted complete set, providing an experience that moves from free reading to owning the title.
Users can obtain a collected-volume access ticket by tapping 'Receive as a Gift' on the Tokyo Revengers title page in the SERIES app. The ticket is valid for 24 hours from the time it is issued and can be issued once per account. During the ticket's validity period, SERIES will also operate the 'All-Volumes-Free Challenge,' allowing users to save and verify memorable scenes and reading records based on the number of volumes they read.
Tokyo Revengers is a time-slip action suspense series about protagonist Takemichi Hanagaki, who travels 12 years into the past to prevent the tragic death of his girlfriend from his middle school years.
SERIES has also expanded the campaign into offline spaces. Inspired by Tokyo Revengers' time-leap world, which moves between the past and present, it has organized an event using Seoul Subway Line 2, Seoul's circular subway line. The 'Line 2 Loop Challenge' will run from October 2 through October 11. Participants who find and verify Tokyo Revengers outdoor advertisements near five stations—Hongik University Station, Sinchon Station, Seongsu Station, Samseong Station and Gangnam Station—will be entered into a lottery to receive WEBTOON Cookies. A Tokyo Revengers-themed pop-up café will also open in Seoul's Seongsu-dong. Free drinks will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis to users who obtain an all-volumes-free access ticket and verify the challenge screen. The venue will also feature physical copies of all collected volumes and an art wall, offering fans additional attractions.
SERIES previously held a free promotion for all volumes of Bleach and Naruto in July. During that month, SERIES recorded its highest monthly active users (MAU) ever. By title, the number of readers of Bleach increased approximately 665-fold compared with the same period immediately before the promotion, while Naruto saw an approximately 200-fold increase.
