Any Korean national aged 19 to 39, born between October 3, 1986, and October 2, 2007, may apply. There are no restrictions based on gender, education, prior experience, or region, so anyone with passion and a vision for youth policy can apply, even without formal credentials.
The appointed adviser will handle key responsibilities, including planning and promoting Chungnam’s youth policies, designing its future vision, linking and coordinating youth policies across departments, and establishing communication and cooperation mechanisms with young people. The initial appointment is for two years and may be extended based on work performance. Compensation will be approximately 69.66 million won based on the minimum annual salary, with the final amount to be determined through consultation upon appointment.
The selection process consists of a first-round document screening and a second-round interview. The first round will comprehensively evaluate a youth policy proposal, a personal statement, and a video of up to one minute outlining the applicant’s aspirations. The second-round interview will assess policy capabilities and communication skills through a policy presentation (PT) and in-depth questions and answers.
In particular, 15 youth evaluators selected from a youth database will participate in the second-round interviews alongside expert evaluators to actively reflect the perspectives of young people themselves. Chungnam also plans to conduct a preliminary mobile opinion survey of 2,000 young people in the province, select outstanding policy proposals, and use them as reference materials for the interview evaluation.
Applications may be submitted from the 19th to the 22nd either in person to the Examination Team of the Personnel Division on the fourth floor of the main building of Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Government or by registered mail. Details of the announcement and application forms are available in the examination announcements section of the Chungnam provincial government website or through the QR code included in the announcement.
Lee Jong-ik, director of the Youth and Women Bureau of Chungnam, said, "The fresh perspectives and passion of young people will become a powerful driving force for Chungnam’s new leap forward," adding, "We look forward to seeing talented people step forward to help create a Chungnam where young people want to gather and live."
Meanwhile, the structural problems underlying recent moves by local governments to establish youth-focused organizations or expand youth policy adviser programs include the risk of local population decline and extinction and the outflow of young people to the capital region. In fact, non-capital local governments, including Chungnam, are experiencing demographic imbalances as the outflow of young people intensifies due to a lack of jobs and cultural and welfare infrastructure.
