[Financial News] DL E&C has entered the negotiated-contract process to win the Seongsu District 2 redevelopment project, valued in the 2-trillion-won range. The proposed complex, named 'Acro Seongsu,' features a design developed in collaboration with global architecture and design firms, with towers reaching up to 65 stories.
DL E&C said on the 2nd that it submitted a bid proposal on the 1st for a negotiated contract for the Housing Maintenance-Type Redevelopment Project in District 2 of the Seongsu Strategic Redevelopment Area in Seoul's Seongdong District.
DL E&C was the sole participant in the association's earlier tender to select a construction contractor and became the preferred negotiating party. After reviewing the proposal, the association plans to hold a general meeting to select the contractor on the 21st of next month.
Seongsu District 2 is planned to be redeveloped into a complex with six basement levels, up to 65 above-ground stories, 11 buildings, and 2,381 households. The project cost is 2.0137 trillion won.
DL E&C has proposed the name 'Acro Seongsu' for the complex. The company explained that the name reflects its vision of creating a high-end residential complex embodying Seongsu's cultural value and riverside location.
Arcadis, a global design firm, and Arup, a specialist in supertall structural engineering, participated in the structural and basic design. Doka joined as a partner for structural-frame construction control.
Yabu Pushelberg, which has handled global hotel projects, is in charge of the interior design. Martha Schwartz is participating in the landscaping, while Licht Kunst Licht is involved in the lighting design.
DL E&C incorporated Han River views and a restrained exterior design into its proposal. The complex was arranged so that every household owned by an association member can enjoy views of the Han River, and the company also proposed a sky lounge with panoramic river views.
The community facilities proposal includes private studios for each household, a first for the Seongsu area. Residents can use them as wineries, cinemas, private workout rooms, or lesson rooms. High ceilings will enhance the sense of openness and the views. A DL E&C official said, "Seongsu District 2 is a symbolic project site with a riverside location along the Han River that represents Seoul, as well as Seongsu's unique cultural and lifestyle infrastructure. We will draw on the full capabilities of Acro, our unparalleled high-end brand, to present a new landmark representing Seongsu."
