Renault Korea Opens Second Flagship Showroom in Busan's Dongnae District, Announces Launch of 'Busan New Tech Center' in 2027

[Financial News] Renault Korea held an opening ceremony on the 1st for its flagship showroom, 'Renault Dongnae,' in Dongnae District, Busan, and announced plans to launch the 'Busan New Tech Center' in 2027.
Renault Korea said on the 2nd that Renault Dongnae is a showroom located at 51 Myeongnyun-ro in Dongnae District, Busan, and is the company's second flagship showroom after Renault Seongsu. Renault Korea renovated the showroom under the slogan, 'Renault, Made in Busan. Driving Busan,' and plans to hold various brand experience events in the future. The opening ceremony was attended by Nicolas Paris, president of Renault Korea, Renault Korea employees, representatives of partner companies, Busan Mayor Chun Jae-soo, Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Yang Jaesaeng, and BNK Financial Group Chairman Bin Dae-in.
The Busan New Tech Center aims to relocate some key future-vehicle development functions from Renault Korea's R&D operations, which have been concentrated in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, to Busan. These functions include various development certifications and safety testing. The center will also be equipped with the latest facilities to improve operational links with the manufacturing process. Renault Korea plans to initially invest approximately 70 billion won in facilities and launch the center in the first half of 2027 at its Busan plant, equipped with 17 key R&D facilities, including a crash-test facility, simulated crash-test equipment (SLED), and a multipurpose environmental test chamber. The company also plans to build additional facilities outside the Busan plant in cooperation with the Busan Metropolitan Government.
Nicolas Paris said, "We plan to establish an end-to-end automotive production ecosystem in Busan that encompasses the entire process, from testing new vehicles to final production. By combining our development and testing capabilities with the craftsmanship of the Busan plant, we will lead Busan toward becoming a center for future automotive development."
Renault Korea also signed a 'Business Agreement on Industrial Finance for the Mutual Growth of the Regional Automotive Industry' with BNK Financial Group on the same day. The two companies will work together to establish a virtuous cycle for the Busan regional economy and support the competitiveness of the regional automotive industry and the growth of local companies. They will expand industrial finance support for Renault Korea's new-car dealerships and maintenance and parts-service partners, while improving access to automotive financing for local customers.
