[Hanoi, Vietnam—Correspondent Kim Jun-seok] Mirae Asset Finance Vietnam has received approval from the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) to add two new business areas, including deposits and the opening of payment accounts, to the scope of its operating license.
According to local media on the first, Mirae Asset Finance Vietnam received approval from the SBV on the 25th of last month to amend its establishment and operating license accordingly.
As a result, two items were officially added to the establishment and operating license issued on November 12, 2021 (Article 4, Paragraph 3 of License No. 73/GP-NHNN): deposits from credit institutions and foreign bank branches in accordance with SBV regulations, and the opening of payment accounts with commercial banks and foreign bank branches.
The expansion of these business areas was pursued to refine the scope of the license and establish a legal foundation for a more proactive and flexible response in fund management, cash-flow control and payment operations. It is also expected to help create a safe and efficient operating environment while contributing to compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Building on its strengthened legal foundation, Mirae Asset Finance Vietnam plans to improve operational efficiency, enhance its management capabilities and pursue sustainable growth. It also aims to better meet the diverse financial needs of its customers and partners.
Meanwhile, Mirae Asset Finance Vietnam, which entered the local market in 2010 after obtaining an operating license from the SBV, is now in its 15th year since establishment. It currently operates a nationwide network of approximately 30,000 points of sale (POS) and provides financial services to more than 4.5 million customers.
