[Financial News] A man in his 60s was booked after damaging a court door when his appeal was dismissed.
According to police on the 1st, Seoul Mapo Police Station booked and is investigating a man in his 60s, identified only as A, on suspicion of damaging public property.
A is accused of hurling insults at the judicial panel and damaging a first-floor door at Seoul Western District Court at around 2:50 p.m. that day after becoming enraged upon hearing that his appeal had been dismissed.
A, who was indicted for violating the obligation to register personal information under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, reportedly filed an appeal after being found guilty at the first trial.
The judicial panel reportedly did not take separate measures against A, such as ordering him to be held in custody. Police officers who responded to the scene accompanied A to the station voluntarily and subsequently booked him on suspicion of damaging public property.
Police allowed A to return home that day and plan to investigate the precise circumstances of the incident.
