[Financial News] A police officer affiliated with Seoul Seongdong Police Station was placed on standby assignment after posting a document containing the personal information of an informant who made a report to the 112 Police Emergency Number about a Hold'em pub in an open chat room joined by Hold'em pub operators and others.
According to police and others on the 1st, Senior Inspector A of Seoul Seongdong Police Station posted a document containing the results of handling a report to the 112 Police Emergency Number concerning a Hold'em pub on the morning of August 30. About 1,900 people, including Hold'em pub operators, were participating in the chat room.
The posted document included the informant's cellphone number, the date and time the report was received, and the details of the report. It was deleted about 30 minutes after being posted.
A police official stated, "The senior inspector is currently on standby assignment."
Meanwhile, A is reportedly said to have stated that he posted the document in another chat room by mistake while looking for a chat room used for internal reporting. Police have provisionally determined that the post resulted from a simple mistake and are investigating the exact circumstances.
