Jin Seok-beom, Former CEO of Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation, Appointed Secretary-General of Community Chest of Korea

According to the Community Chest of Korea on the 1st, its board of directors unanimously appointed Jin as the new secretary-general. His three-year term begins on the 8th.
As an ex officio full-time director, the new secretary-general will oversee fundraising and distribution programs, as well as the Secretariat's overall operations.
Born in Seoul, he graduated from the Department of Social Welfare at Sungkyunkwan University. After leaving the Republic of Korea Army Special Warfare Command as a captain in 2001, he began working as a social worker.
He earned a master's degree in social welfare from the Graduate School of Social Welfare at The Catholic University of Korea and a doctorate in the same field from Konkuk University Graduate School. He also served as an assistant professor at Dong Seoul University and Suwon Science College.
He later served as president and CEO of the Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation and the Hwaseong City Social Welfare Foundation, as well as a senior administrative officer in the Office of the Health and Welfare Secretary at the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea.
The Community Chest of Korea issued a recruitment notice on July 8. After reviewing applications and conducting interviews, the Secretary-General Candidate Recommendation Committee recommended two final candidates to the board.
The inauguration ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on the 8th at the Community Chest of Korea's main auditorium.
