[Financial News] Yulchon and the Korea Civil Aviation Association have joined forces to respond jointly to legal and institutional changes in the aviation industry, including tighter aviation safety and security regulations and the development of Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
Yulchon said on the 1st that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Civil Aviation Association to support the aviation industry's continued development and provide legal assistance to member companies.
The aviation industry is undergoing rapid changes in its business environment as regulations related to aviation safety and security are tightened and institutional frameworks for new aviation fields such as UAM are being developed.
UAM is a next-generation transportation system that uses electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and other technologies to transport people or cargo in urban areas. The government is also pursuing demonstration projects and developing related systems to commercialize UAM.
As a result, aviation-related companies increasingly need to deepen their understanding of changing laws and institutions and proactively address various legal and practical issues that may arise in the course of their business.
In response to these changes in the industry, Yulchon and the Korea Civil Aviation Association agreed to share member companies' legal concerns and key issues and cooperate in providing the necessary legal support. They also plan to jointly hold training sessions and seminars on legal and practical matters related to the aviation industry for member companies, while exchanging information on laws, institutions and major issues.
The two organizations will also continue to cooperate on aviation-related policies and institutions. They plan to analyze legislative and policy trends, conduct joint research, share views on major issues facing the aviation industry and continue seeking ways to cooperate in supporting member companies.
Through the agreement, the Korea Civil Aviation Association expects to supplement its support for strengthening member companies' legal and practical capabilities and provide them with a broader range of professional services. Drawing on its legal expertise in aviation and land transportation, Yulchon also plans to help the aviation industry respond effectively to the changing legal and institutional environment.
Doil Son, Yulchon's managing partner in charge of management, emphasized, "The aviation industry is facing a range of legal and institutional changes, including not only regulatory changes in aviation safety and security but also the development of systems for new fields such as UAM." He added, "Through this MOU, we will work closely with the Korea Civil Aviation Association to provide practical legal and operational support so that member companies can respond effectively to the changing environment."
