Nexon's New MMORPG 'Overgeared' Opens Pre-Registration

[Financial News] Nexon is opening pre-registration for 'Overgeared,' a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) being developed by Gray Games. The company plans to target the global gaming market with the major new title based on the globally popular intellectual property (IP) Overgeared.
According to industry sources on the 1st, pre-registration for Overgeared is available through the official pre-registration page and Kakao.
The official pre-registration page offers two events: 'A Road to the Unknown' and 'Challenge! The Legendary Blacksmith.' Participants in 'A Road to the Unknown' with the pre-registration reward 'Petal Rabbit (companion pet)' can receive 'God Hand equipment.' The 'Challenge! The Legendary Blacksmith' event offers rewards such as titles. Users who pre-register through Kakao will receive an entry ticket for an event offering chances to win various prizes, including a 'GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card' and an 'iPad 11.'
Participation events through the official channels will also be held. Users who subscribe to the official Overgeared YouTube channel and add the Kakao channel as a friend can receive 'Gold,' a 'Hunting Support Box,' and a 'Guaranteed Crafting Materials Box.'
The first episode of 'Overgeared: Overtalk,' a video series introducing the game's development direction and key content, will be released. Producer Choi Byung-cheon and Director Yoon Soon-jun will appear in the video to introduce the equipment-focused progression system and core features. It will explain how players can obtain equipment through various channels to reduce the burden of progression, while continuing to use acquired gear through unique systems such as 'Weapon Modification' and 'Signature Equipment' and connecting it to character growth.
Overgeared, the original IP for the game, has achieved various milestones, including 1.3 billion combined views for its Kakao Page web novel and webtoon, the No. 1 ranking on the Asian web novel platform Wuxiaworld, and 85.28 million cumulative likes on the Japanese digital manga and novel platform Piccoma. It also won the Piccoma Awards 2023. Nexon will publish Overgeared and plans to launch it within the year as a PC and mobile cross-platform title in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
