[Financial News] Kyobo Book Centre ranked No. 1 in the large-bookstore customer satisfaction survey for the 30th consecutive year. It also ranked No. 1 in the online bookstore category for the second consecutive year, topping both the offline and online categories.
According to Kyobo Book Centre on the 1st, it scored 84.7 points in the large-bookstore category and 84.9 points in the online bookstore category in the Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC)'s "2026 Korean Customer Satisfaction Index (KCSI)" survey.
Kyobo Book Centre has never relinquished the top spot since 1997, when evaluations in the large-bookstore category began, through this year. It is the third company to achieve 30 consecutive No. 1 rankings in the KCSI, following Hyundai Motor Company in the general passenger-car category and Samsung C&T Everland in the comprehensive leisure facilities category.
In the large-bookstore category, Kyobo Book Centre received high marks for overall satisfaction and willingness to revisit. In the online bookstore category, the convenience of ordering and payment, order and delivery tracking, and the condition of delivered books were cited as key strengths.
A comparison of the results in the two categories shows that the diversity of books and trust in the bookstore are common strengths. At physical stores, convenience in visiting and browsing for books stood out, while online, convenience in ordering and delivery was highlighted.
Kyobo Book Centre introduced its customer monitoring program in 1995 and Book Master, a specialized reading consultation service, in 2000. It also created spaces where customers can read, relax and experience art, including the Kauri Table at its Gwanghwamun Branch and Kyobo Art Space.

In 2009, Kyobo Book Centre introduced Barodream, allowing customers to pick up books ordered online at a store. Last year, it integrated the Kyobo Book Centre and HOTTRACKS applications. Starting on the 12th and continuing for about a month, it will also hold a customer appreciation event for online and offline customers. Customers who make purchases will receive, while supplies last, commemorative bookmarks designed like receipts and featuring bestsellers from the past 30 years.
A Kyobo Book Centre official said, "We will provide new reading experiences that bridge our stores and online platforms and become a bookstore that is even closer to our customers' daily lives."
