[Financial News] Job training for current employees is expanding to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) improve their ability to use artificial intelligence (AI). Rather than hiring new specialists, the approach helps existing employees apply AI to their work.
According to industry sources on the 1st, HR tech platform Worxphere is participating in the Human Resources Development Service of Korea's 2026 SME Talent Development Premium Training Program and providing job training in AI applications for employees at SMEs.
The training focuses on job functions widely used in SMEs, including recruitment, marketing, business development and information security. Rather than simply teaching participants how to use generative AI, it focuses on integrating AI into existing work processes.
In the recruitment track, participants learn how to analyze a company's hiring competitiveness and the characteristics of job seekers to create job postings and related content. The marketing course includes practical exercises in analyzing advertising and sales data with AI and preparing performance reports.
The business development track covers AI-assisted market research and strategic planning, while the information security track addresses security risk assessments and the development of data security policies.
The training is open to employees enrolled in employment insurance who work for enterprises eligible for preferential support under the Employment Insurance Act. Participating companies that meet the completion standards and support requirements can receive reimbursement for up to 90% of their training costs.
Industry observers expect demand for training that strengthens the AI capabilities of existing employees to grow, as AI adoption is spreading among SMEs while many companies find it difficult to secure dedicated AI specialists.
A Worxphere representative said, "For SMEs' AI transition to lead to actual changes in the workplace, it is important for employees who understand day-to-day operations to learn how to use AI in ways suited to their work."
