[Financial News] Samsung Electronics unveiled the premium Galaxy Tab S12 Series, featuring a thin and lightweight design along with enhanced performance and battery life. The Ultra model maintains a thickness of 5.1 mm while delivering improved AI processing performance, and can play videos for up to 23 hours on a single charge.
Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ on the 1st. The two products will launch on the 7th in South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, Japan and other markets.
Ultra maintains 5.1 mm thickness; Plus gets a larger display and lighter weight

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features the same 5.1 mm thickness as its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, along with a large 14.6-inch display. Equipped with the latest processor, it delivers approximately 61% higher neural processing unit (NPU) performance, 19% higher central processing unit (CPU) performance and 17% higher graphics processing unit (GPU) performance than the previous model.
Users can handle multiple tasks at once, such as watching lecture videos, taking notes and asking questions of AI. The newly designed 3D vapor chamber efficiently disperses heat generated during demanding tasks, helping maintain stable performance over extended periods.
The Galaxy Tab S12+ is thinner and lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+. Its display has been enlarged from 12.4 inches to 12.6 inches, while slimmer bezels preserve portability and provide more space for viewing content and working.
Based on video playback, the Ultra offers up to 23 hours of battery life, while the Plus lasts up to 21 hours. Both products support 45W super-fast charging and can be fully charged in approximately 95 minutes.
Both models feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with support for brightness of up to 1,600 nits. Samsung improved Vision Booster, which adjusts screen brightness in real time based on surrounding light, to enhance outdoor visibility. The speakers use four-channel audio.
Large-screen AI and Photoshop support creativity and productivity
The Galaxy Tab S12 Series runs Samsung One UI 9 (One UI 9), based on Android 17. Multi-window allows users to divide the screen into up to three areas for watching videos, taking notes and using AI simultaneously. Note Assist summarizes written notes.
Both models come with a hexagonal S Pen as standard. The separately sold aluminum Pro Keyboard features a Galaxy AI key for quickly calling up the AI assistant. On Samsung Internet Browser, Galaxy AI can summarize the contents of multiple tabs at once or find information from previously viewed webpages.
The products are also the first Android tablets to come with Adobe Photoshop preinstalled. Its interface is optimized for the tablet display and S Pen, supporting drawing and image editing. Users can access Photoshop mobile premium free of charge for four months.
The note-taking app Notability offers six months of free access and a 20% discount on the first subscription. Users can also use Goodnotes, the video-editing app LumaFusion, the project-management app Notion and the drawing app Clip Studio Paint. Customers who purchase the products will receive a six-month free subscription to Google AI Pro.
The products will be available in gray and silver, with 5G and Wi-Fi models. The Ultra comes in three memory and storage configurations: 16GB/1TB, 12GB/512GB and 12GB/256GB. The Plus will be offered in 12GB/512GB and 12GB/256GB configurations.
Depending on the specifications, the Ultra is priced at KRW 1,899,700–3,018,400, while the Plus ranges from KRW 1,549,900 to 2,069,100.
Samsung Electronics will accept sign-ups for launch alerts on Samsung.com from the 1st through the 6th. Among customers who purchase a product after signing up for the alerts, selected winners will receive a Galaxy Watch Ultra2, Galaxy Watch9 or Galaxy Buds4 Pro.
Kim Jung-hyun, vice president of the Samsung Electronics MX Business Division, said, "We will combine powerful hardware with the latest Galaxy AI to help users experience the highest level of productivity."
