HJ Shipbuilding & Construction announced on the 1st that the 2026 HJ Shipbuilding & Construction–Dongbu Construction Championship, a KLPGA Tour event co-hosted with Dongbu Construction, will be held at A-ONE CC over four days from the 8th to the 11th.
A total of 108 players will compete in the tournament, which offers total prize money of 1 billion won and a winner's purse of 180 million won.
All of the KLPGA's top players are set to participate. HJ Shipbuilding & Construction's players include A-yeon Cho, Jung Min Hong and Kim Min-seo 3. With attention focused on the title battle between A-yeon Cho, the 2019 KLPGA Rookie of the Year, and Jung Min Hong, last year's KLPGA Tour money winner, Kim Min-seo 3, who has been competing on the Dream Tour, will also test her skills against her more experienced peers.
HJ Shipbuilding & Construction has prepared a range of corporate social responsibility programs to turn the tournament into a local festival combining sports and charitable giving.
During the tournament, the company will work with the Busan Golf Association to invite young aspiring golfers from elementary and middle schools in Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam for one-point lessons with professional players. The program is designed to help develop future golf talent and expand the local golf base by giving students who dream of becoming golfers the opportunity to meet and communicate directly with professionals and learn from real competition experience.
The tournament will also link sports with charitable giving through the Charity Zone. Donations will be accumulated based on game results, such as players' birdies and eagles, during the event. The funds raised will be delivered after the tournament to neighbors and organizations in the local community that need assistance.
In addition, the organizers plan to provide systematic support throughout the event so that players can perform at their best. They will also prepare a range of programs, including a pro-am event, fan participation activities and community-linked events, to create a tournament involving players, fans and the local community.
Yoo Sang-cheol, CEO of HJ Shipbuilding & Construction, said, "Through this tournament, which is being held in Busan for the first time, we will contribute to the development of women's professional golf and the expansion of the local sports base. Through various activities that combine sports and charitable giving, we will make it a meaningful festival that grows together with the local community."
