[Financial News] The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education is expanding its "Elementary School Lesson-Sharing Relay" program to enhance teachers' instructional expertise and foster a culture of collaborative research and learning-sharing in schools.
According to the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education on the 1st, the second-semester Elementary School Lesson-Sharing Relay will begin that day and run through December 4.
This semester's program will feature a record-high 109 teachers voluntarily opening their classes for observation, while more than 900 teachers are expected to attend and add momentum to the drive for instructional innovation.
The Lesson-Sharing Relay is a participatory professional development program in which teachers open their classes, share the intentions behind their lesson designs and the implementation process, and reflect together.
During post-observation discussions, teachers exchange views and share best practices on a range of topics relevant to the classroom, including question-generation strategies, ways to promote student participation, methods for improving students' literacy, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools. In line with the era of digital transformation, the program will also showcase lessons incorporating AI and digital technologies.
Superintendent of Education Kim Seok-jun said, "The Lesson-Sharing Relay is a starting point for establishing a student-led, learning-centered classroom culture through teachers' voluntary lesson research and sharing." He added, "We will spare no support in creating classrooms where students can grow and learn, based on teachers' collaborative instructional innovation."
