[Financial News] Samsung Electronics is introducing Galaxy Buds On, clip-on wireless earbuds that do not block the ears, allowing users to hear music while staying aware of surrounding sounds. As the first clip-on product in the Galaxy Buds series, the earbuds are designed to reduce discomfort during extended wear and help users monitor their surroundings while walking or exercising outdoors.
Samsung Electronics unveiled Galaxy Buds On on the 1st and said it would launch the product first in South Korea on the 27th. The earbuds will be available in a single black model priced at 299,000 won. They will later be rolled out sequentially in global markets.
Galaxy Buds On are designed to rest lightly over the ears. Samsung Electronics analyzed data on various ear shapes and adjusted the placement of the speakers and battery. The earbuds distribute pressure by widening the contact area with the ear and remain securely in place even during extensive movement by adjusting the band's elasticity. Touching the back of the earbuds controls key functions such as music playback and calls.
Twin Boost speakers were used to compensate for the low-end frequencies that can be lacking in an open-ear design. The earbuds also automatically adjust the volume according to the surrounding environment. Samsung Electronics applied sound-leakage reduction technology for the first time to reduce noise affecting people nearby when the earbuds are used in public places such as libraries and cafes.
The earbuds feature the Snapdragon S7 Sound Platform Gen 1 and a high-efficiency Class-D amplifier. A single charge provides up to 9.5 hours of continuous music playback.

For calls, the earbuds use the Intelligent Clear Call technology found in previous Galaxy Buds models. Three microphones, a sensor that detects vibrations generated while speaking, and a machine-learning-based solution distinguish the user's voice from background noise. Samsung Electronics explained that the technology supports clear calls outdoors in windy conditions and indoors amid vacuum cleaner noise.
When connected to a smartphone or tablet that supports Galaxy AI, users can hold voice conversations, create notes, and check notifications without taking out the device. Saying "Hey Google, let's talk live" while wearing the earbuds launches Gemini Live.
The earbuds also support Quick Voice Memo, which records speech when users speak while holding down the back of the earbuds. Recorded content can be searched through Bixby. With the head-gesture feature, users can nod or shake their heads to answer or end calls, dismiss alarms, or have message notifications read aloud.
Opening the charging case connects the earbuds to a Galaxy smartphone or tablet. Users can adjust the volume and equalizer from the smartphone's Settings menu and Quick Panel without installing the separate Samsung Galaxy Wearable app.
Kim Jung-hyun, executive vice president and head of the CX Office at Samsung Electronics' MX Division, said, "Galaxy Buds On is a form factor designed for consumers' diverse everyday use cases, and it will provide users with a comfortable everyday listening experience while keeping them naturally connected to their surroundings."
