Appearing on the Democratic Party of Korea's YouTube program Minty07 that day, Kim said, "We spent a year running and went through an election, but the election results did not turn out as we had hoped. Approval ratings fell, followed by an adjustment and then a very slight, gradual rebound. Wouldn't you say that's where we are now?"
He also referred to President Lee Jae Myung's recent remarks. Kim said, "The president recently said things like, 'I can't do this alone,' and expressed some difficulty while asking all of you to participate. I am beginning to feel the response to that little by little." Citing President Lee's recent apology at a press conference addressed to the nation, he added, "I get the sense, and see him showing, that he is once again steeling his resolve and beginning to work things out."
Kim nevertheless said, "There have always been difficult periods for past Democratic administrations, and in the end, if we remain consistent while upholding our principles and loyalty to the people, things ultimately move in that direction. As long as we do not do anything wrong or stubbornly insist on our own way, we can correct policies when they run into difficulties. On major principles, if the president moves forward with his own convictions and confidence, I am certain that the people will set the ship afloat again. We will work harder."
